AI Agents Pay Onchain

The idea
I believe AI agents start paying each other at real scale within a year or two, and that money settles onchain since agents won't open bank accounts. So this basket owns both layers: the settlement chains built for fast, cheap transfers, plus the exchanges, stablecoin issuers, and payment networks wiring crypto into everyday money. It's concentrated and high-beta by design, with 12% held back in cash to add on sharp dips. I'd rethink this if agent payments stay stuck in traditional rails instead of moving onchain.
What it owns
- If agents pay each other onchain, these are the networks where that value actually moves and settles. · EthereumMost stablecoin value and serious payments pilots settle on Ethereum today, making it the default foundation for onchain agent transactions., SolanaAgents making constant micropayments need near-zero fees and instant settlement, which is the core strength of this chain., SuiIt offers faster throughput and lower costs than established chains, betting it captures a slice of agent micropayments if it gains real stablecoin traction., ArbitrumIt is the largest Ethereum layer two where micropayments between agents will actually settle, capturing value if that activity concentrates there., OptimismIts stack powers chains where cheap stablecoin payments already happen, positioning it to capture value as payment volume grows across its ecosystem.27%
- Converting dollars to stablecoins and holding keys requires intermediaries that earn fees regardless of direction. · Coinbase GlobalIt operates the primary onramp between dollars and blockchains while sharing stablecoin revenue, capturing fees at multiple layers of the transaction., Robinhood MarketsIt serves as the retail entry point for users funding wallets that agents draw from, capturing mainstream adoption if onchain payments go consumer-scale., Galaxy DigitalIt provides institutional custody and treasury services for companies holding and moving stablecoins at scale, capturing growth as agent deployment increases.21%
- Agents transacting onchain will need stablecoins instead of volatile assets, so issuers capture fees on every payment. · Circle Internet GroupIt issues the stablecoins agents will use to transact, so growth in onchain payment volume directly drives USDC supply expansion., PayPal HoldingsIt issues a stablecoin backed by an existing payments business with hundreds of millions of accounts, providing diversified exposure to stablecoin adoption.15%
- Protocols built for agent coordination and oracles connecting them to real-world data earn fees as transaction volume grows. · ChainlinkAgents transacting across chains depend on price feeds and cross-chain messaging that run primarily through this oracle network., Artificial SuperintelligenceIt is the token designed specifically for agents to discover and pay each other onchain, making it the most direct bet on agent-to-agent commerce., NEAR ProtocolIt has positioned itself for AI with account abstraction making it easy for agents to hold and move funds, succeeding only if teams build agent payments on it.14%
- Card networks and processors already moving stablecoins provide steady exposure if adoption flows through existing rails. · VisaIt already settles transactions in stablecoins across the largest payment network, positioning itself to route agent payments through existing rails., MastercardIt builds the bridge between banks, stablecoins, and blockchains, collecting fees whether agent payments route through traditional rails or bypass them entirely.12%
