The idea
I believe that as AI floods the internet, proving you are a real human becomes something every platform and bank has to pay for, again and again. This basket spreads across the companies positioned to profit from that: identity verification rails, bot-defense networks, payment networks turning into identity networks, content authenticity standards, and the biometric hardware already in your pocket. I built it broad and steady rather than concentrated in one name, kept a slice in cash, and I am holding for five-plus years since this is a structural shift, not a trade.
What it owns
- These companies get paid each time someone proves they are human, and a bot-filled internet means far more verification checks across platforms and services. · CLEAR Secure, Inc.Its entire business is verifying that a specific real person is present, first at airports and now expanding online., Okta, Inc.It is the login layer thousands of companies already pay for, and a proof-you-are-human check would plug in first when distinguishing humans from bots becomes standard., Equifax Inc.It owns the records that anchor a digital identity to a real person's history, employment, and credit., TransUnionIt scores whether an identity is real or synthetic, and synthetic identity fraud is exactly what AI makes cheap., Mitek Systems, Inc.It gets paid per check when a bank or app verifies a real ID and a live face match., RELX PLCIts LexisNexis Risk arm tracks device and behavior signals that tell a bank whether the thing logging in acts like a human., Telos CorporationIt runs identity vetting for the US government, the buyer most likely to mandate proof of personhood.35%
- This bucket holds companies that filter bot traffic before it reaches websites and apps, creating a traffic-screening layer that sits in front of most of the web. · Cloudflare, Inc.It sits in front of a huge share of the web and decides request by request whether traffic is human or bot, already charging AI crawlers for access., Akamai Technologies, Inc.It is a major gatekeeper filtering bot traffic for large enterprises, a steadier and cheaper complement to other traffic defense tools., Alphabet Inc.It runs reCAPTCHA, the most widely used human-or-bot test on the internet, and has both the motive and scale to build what replaces it as AI beats old puzzles.20%
- Payment networks and identity blockchains already know who is real at massive scale, and they are turning that knowledge into a product. · Mastercard IncorporatedIt is quietly turning payment rails into identity rails, selling verification and fraud services on top of every transaction., Visa Inc.Its network already answers whether a transaction comes from the real person, and its identity and fraud tools ride on that trust., Coinbase Global, Inc.Its blockchain runs a proof-of-personhood project, so if a crypto-native human ID takes off, it owns the rails underneath.16%
- When AI can fake any image or video, tools that stamp content as human-made become the other half of proving personhood. · Adobe Inc.It created and leads the Content Authenticity standard that labels whether an image came from a human or AI, baking those credentials into tools creators already pay for., Sony Group CorporationIt signs photos at the moment of capture inside the camera so a real image can prove it was not AI-made.11%
- Face scans and fingerprint chips in phones are becoming the physical proof that a real person is behind the screen. · Apple Inc.It put proof-of-personhood hardware in over a billion pockets through Face ID, the secure enclave, and passkeys that tie logins to a physical device and a real face., QUALCOMM IncorporatedIt supplies the secure chips that make biometric checks trustworthy on most non-Apple phones.10%
