Power Everything: Energy Producers

The idea
I believe advancement, AI, electrification, and industry all point one direction: more energy demand, not less. So I own the producers across every fuel rather than betting on one winner: big integrated oil and gas majors as the core, ringed by natural gas producers, uranium miners, and independent power generators. This is a ten-year hold, so I keep cash low and lean on the large steady names as ballast while sizing the punchier uranium and gas picks smaller. I'd rethink it if energy demand growth actually stalls.
What it owns
- The largest producers generate cash through oil price cycles, providing steady returns over a long holding period. · Exxon MobilThe largest US oil producer anchors the take as a core holding that generates cash through every part of the energy cycle., ChevronReturns cash to shareholders even when oil prices fall, providing stability across a full decade of price swings., ConocoPhillipsLow-cost production means it remains profitable at oil prices that squeeze higher-cost competitors, sustaining earnings through cycles., ShellThe major with the largest natural gas and LNG business, winning on both oil and gas demand growth., TotalEnergiesSpans both fuels and electricity generation, capturing the full energy demand story in one company.30%
- These companies sell electricity directly, so rising power demand flows straight into higher prices and profits. · Constellation EnergyOperates the largest US nuclear fleet selling clean, round-the-clock power to data centers willing to pay premium rates for reliable supply., VistraSells electricity from gas and nuclear plants, capturing direct profits when power prices rise with demand., NRG EnergySells power in Texas, where data centers and industry are outpacing new electricity supply generation., Talen EnergySigns direct power supply contracts with data centers, capturing the most immediate link between AI growth and energy demand.18%
- Natural gas fuels the power plants that run when electricity demand spikes, making it the immediate beneficiary of energy growth. · EQT CorporationThe largest US natural gas producer supplies power plants fueling data centers and electric grid growth., Cheniere EnergyExports US natural gas under long-term contracts, capturing global energy demand rather than relying only on domestic consumption., Expand EnergyAppalachian gas production positioned near growing East Coast power demand makes it a preferred supplier as electricity needs rise., Antero ResourcesSmaller natural gas producer with more leverage to price increases if demand growth outpaces supply expansion.17%
- Nuclear power is expanding as a stable energy source, and uranium supply remains constrained as reactors restart and new ones start up. · CamecoThe largest Western uranium miner captures uranium demand as utilities extend reactor life and build new capacity., NexGen EnergyDeveloping a major uranium mine in Canada that must secure permits, funding, and construction while uranium demand grows., Uranium Energy CorpRestarts US uranium mining as the country moves to source its own nuclear fuel domestically., Centrus EnergyThe only US company enriching uranium, an essential step between mining and reactor fueling if nuclear expansion continues.14%
- Focused US shale producers benefit from the same long-term energy demand growth with lower costs and higher leverage to commodity prices. · EOG ResourcesDrills low-cost shale acreage that generates profits at any reasonable oil price over the long term., Diamondback EnergyConsolidates Permian acreage to lower per-barrel costs and grow production as the basin matures., Devon EnergySteady oil production across multiple US basins stays economic through price cycles while returning cash to shareholders.13%
