Steady Long-Term Core

The idea
I believe a handful of durable trends, the AI computing build-out, payment and banking rails, healthcare, the power grid, and everyday consumer spending, will keep growing over the next decade even without any near-term catalyst. So I spread this across 20 large, established companies in those five areas, capped so no single holding dominates, with a small cash cushion to add on dips. It's meant to be held patiently for years and revisited as my thinking sharpens.
What will be bought
- The companies building and selling the computing power behind AI get paid regardless of how the AI race plays out. · MicrosoftIt sells the cloud and office software businesses already depend on, and is turning AI into something those same customers pay for., NVIDIAIt makes the chips that train and run most AI systems, making it the most direct way to own the computing build-out., Taiwan Semiconductor ManufacturingIt manufactures the most advanced chips for many companies, so it earns fees regardless of which chip designer wins., AlphabetIt earns large cash flows from search and video ads and is investing in cloud services and AI tools for those same customers., AmazonIt runs the largest rented computing business for AI and has a retail operation people use every week., BroadcomIt designs custom AI chips and the networking gear linking data center machines together, plus software businesses.34%
- Every card swipe, loan and credit rating flows through a small number of companies that collect fees from a growing total. · VisaIt collects a small fee each time someone pays with its cards, so it grows as more spending shifts away from cash., JPMorgan ChaseIt is the largest US bank, earning from loans, deposits, payments and trading across the entire economy., MastercardIt collects fees on card spending worldwide the same way Visa does, spreading that payment network bet across both companies., S&P GlobalIt stays in the take while bond issuance and index fund money keep growing.18%
- Medical care is needed in strong and weak economies, and an aging population steadily pushes demand higher. · Eli LillyIt leads in weight-loss and diabetes drugs that could become some of the largest-selling medicines in history., Johnson & JohnsonIt sells prescription drugs and medical devices and has raised its dividend for decades, steadying the healthcare holdings., Intuitive SurgicalIt makes the da Vinci surgical robots hospitals use and earns steady revenue from the tools and service each procedure requires., Thermo Fisher ScientificIt sells the lab equipment and supplies that drug companies and researchers use daily, benefiting from medical research spending.17%
- Groceries, household goods and drinks sell regardless of the economy, steadying the take when growth stocks decline. · CostcoIt earns most profit from membership fees that renew year after year, holding steady through good times and bad., Procter & GambleIt sells brands like Tide, Pampers and Gillette that people buy even when money is tight, steadying the take when other holdings fall., Coca-ColaIt sells drinks in nearly every country and pays a steady dividend, making it one of the calmest holdings in the take.13%
- Data centers and electric vehicles need more electricity, and the equipment to deliver it through the grid is scarce. · GE VernovaIt builds gas turbines, wind equipment and grid gear that all face growing demand from data centers and electrification., EatonIt makes the electrical equipment that moves and controls power inside data centers, factories and buildings., NextEra EnergyIt is the largest US utility and a major builder of solar, wind and battery storage, so it benefits as electricity demand climbs.11%
