The idea
I believe AI agents will soon pay for real work like bookings and API calls straight from their own wallets in stablecoins, since cards need a human click and crypto rails don't. So this basket leans heaviest into the stablecoin and wallet rails collecting a toll on every transaction, plus settlement chains, exchanges and custodians, card networks adapting fast, and the agent commerce layer. I hold no single name too heavy and keep 10% cash to buy dips, since this theme can swing hard over its one to two year window.
What it owns
- These companies issue the digital dollars and run the wallets that agents pay from, earning a cut of every transaction. · Coinbase GlobalIt built the x402 standard that lets an AI agent pay per API call from a wallet with no human click, and runs Base, a chain those payments can settle on., Circle Internet GroupIt issues USDC, the stablecoin agents would settle in, and every agent payment grows the pool of stablecoins it earns interest on., Block IncIt owns both wallets through Cash App and merchant checkout through Square, positioning it to accept agent payments for its sellers., PayPal HoldingsIt has its own stablecoin plus tens of millions of merchants it can plug agent payments into.33%
- Someone has to hold, secure, and move the funds behind millions of agent wallets. · Robinhood MarketsIt holds crypto wallets for millions of people, the accounts an agent acting for a regular person would draw from., Galaxy DigitalIt builds the trading, custody, and infrastructure that institutions need to run money onchain for fleets of paying agents., Gemini Space StationIts business is custody, keeping crypto safe, which is exactly what an agent's wallet needs behind it., BullishIt runs an institutional exchange where the stablecoins and tokens agents transact in get sourced and converted at scale.18%
- The storefronts and identity layers that let a merchant trust the agent on the other end of a payment. · ShopifyIt turned on stablecoin checkout, so millions of merchants can already accept the payments agents will make., AlphabetIts agent payment protocol supports stablecoins, and it is the company most likely to define how mainstream agents actually pay for things., OktaIt is building the layer that proves which agent is which before money moves, carrying the onchain identity piece of the take.15%
- Agent payments have to clear on a blockchain, and these holdings own the coins of the chains doing the settling. · iShares Ethereum Trust ETFMost stablecoin value settles on Ethereum, and if agent payments in stablecoins scale, the chain collects fees on that traffic., Bitwise Solana Staking ETFAgents paying per API call means huge volumes of tiny fast payments, and Solana is the chain built for exactly that.13%
- Visa and Mastercard are wiring stablecoins into their networks so agents don't route around them. · VisaIt is already settling stablecoins across multiple chains, admitting that crypto rails are coming for payments and building them itself., MastercardIts Agent Pay is a direct move to stay the network layer when an AI agent, not a human click, initiates the payment.11%
