The idea
I'm betting on Musk delivering on his biggest near-term promises: robotaxi expansion, Optimus hitting production, and the Terafab chip plant coming online. Tesla and SpaceX carry most of the weight as the most direct way to own his execution, with the rest spread across the chipmakers, power and cooling suppliers, and lithium and rare-earth producers these projects actually depend on. I'm keeping no single name too large outside the core two, holding a 10% cash cushion to add on Musk-headline dips, and treating this as a one-to-two-year thesis I'll revisit if the milestones keep slipping.
What it owns
- These are the direct vehicles for the core bets on robotaxi spreading beyond Austin and Optimus reaching real production. · Tesla, Inc.Robotaxi spreading to more cities and Optimus reaching real production at scale are the key milestones for this core holding., Space Exploration Technologies Corp.Starlink's customer wins and xAI's compute buildout, plus the Terafab partnership, give exposure to all three of Musk's major growth drivers.44%
- Terafab's success depends on partners and equipment makers to design and build out the Texas chip plant. · Intel CorporationIntel is Terafab's named partner for the Texas chip plant, so its fortunes tie directly to that project moving forward., NVIDIA CorporationEvery compute cluster xAI adds runs on Nvidia chips, so the company benefits directly from AI data center expansion., Taiwan Semiconductor ManufacturingIt makes the chips Tesla designs for cars and robots and is in talks on Terafab, so it wins whether Musk builds his own plant or keeps buying from others., Applied Materials, Inc.Chip plants like Terafab need a wide range of equipment to be built out, so a successful buildout means orders for manufacturing tools., Lam Research CorporationEvery new chip plant needs etch and deposition tools to fabricate circuits, so Terafab's buildout means equipment orders., ASML Holding N.V.Advanced lithography machines are essential for any new plant making leading-edge chips, and only ASML makes the most advanced tools., KLA CorporationInspection tools catch defects during chip production, and a new plant learning to make chips relies on them the most.25%
- Data centers running AI compute need more power and cooling capacity than grids can supply, so on-site generation and thermal management become critical. · GE Vernova Inc.Gas turbines are the fastest way to add power to data centers when grid supply lags, and xAI's buildout is power-constrained., Vertiv Holdings CoDense AI data centers overheat without specialized cooling systems, and xAI's rapid expansion makes thermal management urgent., Caterpillar Inc.On-site generators fill the gap when grid power cannot keep up with data center demand, which is the constraint xAI faces., Eaton CorporationElectrical gear and power distribution are backbone infrastructure for data centers and chip plants, so both buildouts drive demand.11%
- Cybercab, Megapacks and Optimus motors all require lithium, rare-earth magnets and copper that must be sourced and refined. · Albemarle CorporationLithium demand from Tesla batteries in Cybercab, Optimus and cars grows only if those products actually reach volume., MP Materials Corp.Rare-earth magnets in Cybercab and Optimus motors rely on US production, so robotaxi and robot ramps directly drive demand., Sociedad Quimica y MineraChilean lithium production is a second major source for battery metal, so demand depends on Cybercab and Optimus reaching real volume., Freeport-McMoRan Inc.Copper wiring runs through every car, robot, chip plant and data center, so its use scales with all these buildouts.10%
