The idea
I believe automation keeps replacing human labor while AI moves off the cloud and into physical machines, so this book leans into the highest-upside ways to own that shift. Roughly a third sits in the boldest bets on robot brains, with the rest spread across edge chips, automation hardware, the memory and materials feeding it all, plus a software and deployment layer. No single name dominates beyond that top cluster, and 5% stays in cash to add on volatile dips rather than waiting on new money. I'd rethink it if the decade-long shift toward physical AI stalls out.
What it owns
- The highest-upside bets that machines start doing human work, with the top three carrying roughly a third of the book. · NVIDIA CorporationIt supplies the training compute in data centers and the robotics platforms that turn AI into machines that move and act., Tesla, Inc.Optimus humanoid robots doing paid work at scale would prove machines can replace human labor across the economy., Symbotic Inc.It deploys warehouse robots at scale today, already replacing labor in real operations rather than pilots.46%
- The machines and precision components already replacing labor in factories and operating rooms. · Intuitive Surgical, Inc.It holds a near-monopoly on surgical robots already replacing human labor in operating rooms at scale., Teradyne, Inc.It owns Universal Robots, the cobot arms putting factory automation within reach of smaller manufacturers without capital-intensive cages.15%
- The memory, foundry and magnet inputs every physical AI system gets built from. · Micron Technology, Inc.Every machine that thinks locally needs memory, and it is the main US source as AI on devices spreads., Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing CompanyAlmost every advanced AI chip in this take gets made at its fabs, making it the bottleneck the physical AI shift runs through.14%
- The chips that let robots and devices think locally instead of in the cloud. · Qualcomm IncorporatedIts chips run AI directly on phones, cars and robots instead of sending data to the cloud, shifting workloads to the edge.10%
- Desk-work automation and the delivery network where sidewalk robots actually deploy. · ServiceNow, Inc.Its AI agents automate the workflows companies used to staff with people, with adoption growing alongside desk-work automation.6%
