The idea
I believe the AI boom's value keeps concentrating in the US, since top technologists, including India's best founders and engineers, choose it for far better economic rewards. Since the breakout startups themselves are private, I own what captures that value instead: the big platforms that hold stakes in the labs, US-listed companies led by Indian-born builders, the inference clouds those startups rent compute from, and the exchanges and banks that benefit when this generation eventually lists.
What it owns
- Public US tech companies founded or run by Indian-born leaders show the talent flow the post describes. · Arista NetworksIt makes the networking gear that ties AI data centers together, so it gets paid on AI spending across the big buyers., RubrikIt was founded by Indian-born builders who chose to list in the US, an example of the talent flow the take describes., ZscalerIt's a US security company built by an Indian-born founder, a direct case of that talent creating value in US markets., Palo Alto NetworksIt's run by Indian-born leadership and is a top US security company where that talent builds large value in US markets., Micron TechnologyIt's the main US maker of the memory AI chips need and is led by Indian-born leadership, a dual fit for the take., FreshworksIt started overseas and moved its home to the US to list on Nasdaq, which is exactly the path the take says the best founders keep choosing., SnowflakeIt holds the data that companies feed into AI and is led by Indian-born leadership who came from inside US tech, a typical example of talent moving around., AdobeIt's run by Indian-born leadership and the bet is that it makes money from AI rather than being replaced by it.38%
- The US giants hold stakes in the frontier labs, sell them compute, and pay the salaries that pull talent to America. · NVIDIAEvery lab and AI startup buys or rents its chips, so it collects a cut of the boom wherever the founders end up., AlphabetIt backs Anthropic, runs its own frontier lab, and collects AI value through its stakes, cloud and the salaries it pays to keep top researchers in the US., MicrosoftIt owns a big stake in OpenAI and the cleanest example of US capital capturing AI value together through the OpenAI relationship feeding Azure and its AI products., AmazonIt's Anthropic's biggest backer and rents it the compute it trains on, so a US-based lab growing means more money flowing back to AWS.30%
- If the next wave of AI companies lists in New York, the exchanges and underwriters collect fees on every deal. · NasdaqIt's where most US tech companies list, so if AI startups go public in the US, it earns listing and trading fees., Goldman SachsIt earns big fees underwriting IPOs, so a wave of US AI listings goes straight to its bottom line., Intercontinental ExchangeIt owns the New York Stock Exchange and earns on listings, trading and data, so it benefits while US exchanges stay the default home for tech IPOs.14%
- AI startups run on GPU clouds, and the public ones get paid whoever wins. · CoreWeaveIt rents GPUs to AI labs and startups, so when US AI companies raise money, a lot of it gets spent here on compute., Nebius GroupIt rents out the computing power AI startups use to run their models, so it's paid every time a startup serves a customer.10%
