The idea
I believe automation is moving beyond farms and factories into everyday life, starting with driving, then errands, then household chores. Since it is unclear which robots ultimately win, most of the basket sits in the picks and shovels, chips, sensors, motors, and automation systems that any winner needs, split across chores and errands, driverless tech, robot brains, and motion and senses, with a smaller slice in direct autonomy plays and a small cash buffer.
What it owns
- These companies automate deliveries, warehouses, and outdoor work, the logistical side of daily life getting handed to machines. · Amazon.com, Inc.It operates hundreds of thousands of warehouse robots and is rolling out delivery automation at scale, showing the clearest live example of errand automation in action., Deere & CompanyIt is adding autonomy and precision features to tractors and outdoor equipment, applying the same automation story to farms and yards., Symbotic Inc.It builds warehouse robot systems that move goods from storage to delivery, the automated backbone of the errand supply chain., Teradyne, Inc.It owns Universal Robots, making collaborative robot arms that automate repetitive physical work in any setting, an enabler that wins regardless of the dominant robot brand., Zebra Technologies CorporationIt sells the scanners, tracking systems, and warehouse automation gear that logistics and delivery operations run on, the tools behind the scenes., Serve Robotics Inc.Its sidewalk robots deliver food and goods today, the most direct bet on household errand automation, with city rollouts demonstrating the concept at scale.26%
- Autonomous vehicles and robotaxis are moving from testing into paid service, making this the first daily task being automated at real scale. · Alphabet Inc.It owns Waymo, the robotaxi service already carrying paying riders in multiple cities, the most proven execution on autonomous driving today., Tesla, Inc.It is advancing unsupervised robotaxis and building a humanoid robot, representing both the near-term driving bet and the longer-term household automation opportunity., Uber Technologies, Inc.It doesn't need to build the winning robotaxi, only be the platform where people hail one, positioning it to benefit regardless of which technology wins., Mobileye Global Inc.It supplies driver-assist and autonomy systems to carmakers who are not building their own, enabling the industry-wide shift toward autonomous driving.22%
- Every robot needs chips to think and learn, so these suppliers win regardless of which companies build the winning machines. · NVIDIA CorporationIt makes the chips and software platforms that train and run robot intelligence, making it the default place robot makers go to teach their machines., QUALCOMM IncorporatedIt makes the low-power chips that run inside robots and vehicles after they leave the lab, serving as the onboard brain for any winning automation platform., Texas Instruments IncorporatedIt makes the analog chips that connect a robot's brain to the physical world, showing up in nearly every machine regardless of brand or application.18%
- Motors, actuators, and motion control systems are the physical parts every robot needs to move, supplying the entire automation wave. · Honeywell International Inc.Its warehouse and industrial automation businesses are mature and profitable, providing steady returns from the broader shift toward automating physical work., Rockwell Automation, Inc.It is the core American supplier of factory automation systems, extending its proven track record into the wider automation of daily tasks., Regal Rexnord CorporationIt makes the motors and motion control parts that make any robot actually move, sold to all automation platforms so it wins whoever's robot wins., Novanta Inc.It supplies precision motion and sensing components inside robots and automated machines, an enabler that benefits from any robot winning the market.18%
- Robots cannot act without seeing, and these companies make the cameras, sensors, and computer vision chips that let machines perceive the world. · ON Semiconductor CorporationIt is a leading maker of image sensors that cars and machines use as eyes, needed by every autonomous vehicle and delivery robot entering service., Ambarella, Inc.Its computer vision chips let robots and cars process what their cameras see, enabling autonomous driving, delivery robots, and home machines alike., Ouster, Inc.It makes lidar sensors that help robots and vehicles measure their surroundings in three dimensions, enabling both autonomous driving and delivery robots.9%
