The idea
I believe mounting deficits push yields up until the Fed is forced to lean against them, weakening the dollar, and that emerging-market businesses selling to their own consumers benefit most from that shift. The basket skips the big exporters and instead holds Latin American banks and consumer names, Indian and Southeast Asian domestic-demand companies, and local-currency EM bonds, which capture both high local yields and currency gains directly.
