The idea
I believe the post-1971 fiat system keeps funneling new money to asset owners first, so scarce, hard assets keep repricing higher against the currency while wages lag behind. Instead of betting on one consumer winner, I own the scarcity directly: clean spot bitcoin and gold, metal royalty companies, irreplaceable land and mineral acreage, energy infrastructure that tolls physical flows, and producers of scarce commodities. It's a broad, steady basket built for years not months, with a modest cash reserve, and no single name dominates the bet.
What it owns
- Bitcoin is the hardest-capped asset in existence, offering the most direct protection against ongoing currency debasement. · iShares Bitcoin TrustIt provides a direct claim on digitally scarce money that cannot be debased, offering the purest hard-asset bet against fiat currency creation., Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin FundIt provides a second direct claim on spot bitcoin through a different issuer, offering the same hard-money protection against ongoing fiat debasement.22%
- Royalty companies collect a percentage of metal output without operating mines, so rising precious metal prices flow almost directly to revenue and cash flows. · Franco-NevadaIt collects royalties on gold production without operating mine costs, so rising metal prices flow almost directly to revenue growth., Wheaton Precious MetalsIt buys gold and silver production streams at fixed low costs, so metal repricing against the currency widens margins significantly., Royal GoldIt compounds a portfolio of gold royalties over decades, growing cash flows with metal prices while costs remain mostly fixed.17%
- Gold and silver have repriced against every fiat currency since the end of the gold standard, serving as the original stores of scarce value. · SPDR Gold SharesSpot gold is the original hard asset that stores value when currencies are created in abundance., iShares Silver TrustIt tracks spot silver, a smaller and more volatile hard-money claim that tends to reprice further than gold when monetary metal demand accelerates.15%
- Land and mineral acreage cannot be created or printed, and their owners benefit as asset prices rise with currency debasement. · Texas Pacific LandIt owns land and mineral rights in the Permian that cannot be printed, representing direct ownership of scarce resources that reprice as the currency weakens., WeyerhaeuserIt owns millions of acres of timberland, a productive hard asset that holds value as fiat currencies lose purchasing power., Farmland PartnersIt owns farmland and collects rent on it, scarce productive acreage that tends to track asset inflation rather than wage growth.14%
- Uranium and copper supply cannot respond quickly to demand, so producers benefit as money seeks out constrained physical inputs. · CamecoIt produces uranium, a scarce commodity where supply cannot respond quickly to demand, stacking monetary and physical scarcity together., Freeport-McMoRanIt mines copper, a metal requiring a decade to bring new supply online, so prices rise both from real demand and from a weakening currency., Southern CopperIt sits on some of the largest and lowest-cost copper reserves on earth, so rising prices flow mostly to the bottom line as currency debases.13%
- Pipelines and energy royalties collect tolls on physical flows through infrastructure, generating cash flows that tend to rise with nominal prices. · Kinder MorganIts pipelines collect tolls on physical gas flows through infrastructure that costs far more to rebuild today, with replacement costs rising as currencies debase., Williams CompaniesIt operates gas networks that energy must flow through, toll-collecting infrastructure that becomes more valuable as its replacement cost rises with currency debasement., Viper EnergyIt owns oil and gas mineral rights and collects royalties without drilling costs, so higher energy prices in a debasing currency flow straight to the bottom line.12%
