The idea
I believe space and robotics are the future, so instead of betting on which rocket or robot maker wins, I own the suppliers selling parts to all of them: rare-earth magnets and motion components, sensors and connectors, specialty metals, and the chips that help machines see and move. A small slice sits in Tesla and Rocket Lab as the recognizable names. It's spread across about 17 holdings for a three-to-five-year horizon, with a bit of cash kept aside to add on pullbacks.
What it owns
- Imaging, sensor and wiring systems built for harsh conditions are essential to space hardware, factory floors and autonomous systems. · Teledyne Technologies IncorporatedIt builds imaging sensors and cameras used on satellites, spacecraft and factory inspection systems., Amphenol CorporationIt manufactures connectors and cables that carry power and signals inside aircraft, satellites, robots and data centers, serving many industries., TE Connectivity plcIt makes sensors and connectors engineered for heat, vibration and harsh conditions used in factory machines, aircraft and space hardware., Cognex CorporationIt sells the cameras and software that allow factory machines to see, locate and inspect parts, earning revenue regardless of which robot maker succeeds.22%
- Processors that handle sensor data and motor control go into robots and spacecraft across many makers and applications. · NVIDIA CorporationIt supplies the chips and software that enable robots to see, plan and move, selling to many robot makers rather than one., Analog Devices, Inc.It makes the chips that read sensors and control motors in robots, factory equipment and aerospace systems., Texas Instruments IncorporatedIt sells motor-control and power chips to tens of thousands of industrial customers as machines gain motors and automation.21%
- Heat-resistant alloys, titanium and carbon composites are difficult to qualify and widely needed by aerospace, defense and engine makers. · Howmet Aerospace Inc.It makes engine castings and aerospace fasteners that are difficult to qualify and replace, sold to all major engine and airframe builders., ATI Inc.It produces titanium and nickel superalloys that jet engines, rockets and defense systems need to withstand extreme heat and stress., Carpenter Technology CorporationIt makes specialty alloys for aircraft engines, defense systems and medical parts, serving as a supplier across the aerospace industry., Hexcel CorporationIt makes carbon fiber composites that reduce weight in airframes and space structures across commercial, defense and space programs.20%
- Rare-earth magnets, motors, bearings and actuators power robot joints and spacecraft, and are sold across many customers and industries. · Parker-Hannifin CorporationIt supplies the actuators and motion-control parts that operate flight controls, landing gear and fuel systems on nearly every aircraft., MP Materials Corp.It mines, refines and manufactures rare-earth magnets needed by robot joints and spacecraft motors, as the primary domestic US source., Regal Rexnord CorporationIt makes the motors, gearing and actuators that convert power into movement in factories and aircraft, serving many automation customers., The Timken CompanyIt manufactures precision bearings and compact gear drives used in robot arms, aircraft and heavy machinery.20%
- A small stake in well-known builders whose success in robotics and space systems would raise the value of the supplier position. · Tesla, Inc.It is developing the Optimus humanoid robot and continues investing significant resources in robot technology and production., Rocket Lab USA, Inc.It operates launch services for rockets and sells spacecraft parts like solar panels and reaction wheels to external satellite builders.10%
