Everything Gets Hacked

The idea
I believe AI is making hacking cheap and constant, while frontier models and faster quantum progress put today's encryption on a shorter clock, forcing a two-to-three-year scramble to upgrade defenses. This basket leans into that: roughly a quarter in quantum-safe infrastructure, a chunk in identity and threat detection, a slice in cyber-as-warfare contractors, some in physical-world security, and about a quarter in the quantum computer makers who move on every encryption-is-breakable headline.
What it owns
- Companies building quantum computers could break today's encryption, so they rise with every sign progress is accelerating. · IonQIt is the largest company that builds only quantum computers, so it tends to jump on every headline about encryption being broken sooner., Rigetti ComputingIt builds superconducting quantum computers, a higher-risk bet that moves hard on quantum news., D-Wave QuantumIt already sells quantum computing time to paying customers, which makes it one of the few quantum makers with real revenue while the encryption clock gets shorter., IBMIt builds some of the most advanced quantum machines and also sells quantum-safe encryption tools to banks and governments., InfleqtionIt builds quantum computers using neutral atoms, a different approach that could leapfrog others if it scales., Quantum Computing Inc.It is a small bet on light-based quantum machines that rides the same encryption-risk headlines as larger players.28%
- Every website, bank and government must replace its encryption, and these companies sell the traffic, chips and security pieces that make that switch happen. · CloudflareIt sits in front of a huge share of web traffic and can switch it to quantum-safe encryption for customers in one move., F5, Inc.It makes the gear and software that handle encryption at the front door of company networks, so a quantum-safe lock swap means upgrades., Lattice SemiconductorIt makes small chips that handle security inside servers and devices and can be updated to new encryption., RambusIt licenses security designs that chipmakers build into their own chips, so every new chip that needs quantum-safe protection is a chance to get paid., Akamai TechnologiesIt runs a giant network that carries and protects traffic for banks and big companies, the same customers who'll move first on quantum-safe encryption., SEALSQ CorpIt is a small bet on chips built specifically for post-quantum security and invested in quantum-resistant satellite communications.23%
- If AI can fake any login, voice or face, companies that verify identity and stop intruders become essential. · Palo Alto NetworksIt sells a broad security platform that includes identity protection, so it gets paid both when AI makes attacks constant and when companies need to verify who's on their network., OktaIt controls logins for thousands of companies, which becomes the choke point when AI can fake voices and whole people., CrowdStrikeIt stops breaches on laptops, servers and cloud accounts, which is the front line if everyone is getting hit by AI-driven hacking.16%
- When AI hacking becomes a national security threat, government cyber budgets flow to these defense contractors. · Booz Allen HamiltonIt does cyber work for US intelligence and defense agencies, so it is first in line if governments treat hacking as war., Leidos HoldingsIt builds and secures IT systems for the Pentagon and other agencies, which puts it in the path of any government push to harden networks against AI-powered attacks., CACI InternationalIt does the more offensive and electronic side of government cyber work, which is where the money goes if cyber becomes part of warfare., Science Applications InternationalIt runs and protects federal computer systems, giving it a central role in government cybersecurity modernization.16%
- Power grids, water plants and factories become targets, and these companies secure the networks that run machinery. · FortinetIt makes firewalls widely deployed in factories and utilities where network security protects critical infrastructure., Cisco SystemsIts networking gear runs inside many factories and power systems, and it sells security on top, so it benefits when attacks force upgrades.9%
