The idea
I believe AI makes digital content infinite and cheap, so the things that can't be copied, a seat at the game, a night at the show, a day in a park built on beloved IP, will keep capturing a growing share of spending. I own this through three layers: sports as the scarcest live content, the venues and rails of live entertainment, and the IP owners behind theme parks, split across eleven founder- and family-run names with no single position dominating.
What it owns
- Teams and leagues own the scarcest live content available, and no technology can substitute for being in a stadium when the game happens. · Liberty Media Formula OneIt owns Formula One, a global live sport watched only as it happens, with race attendance and media rights as the engines of growth., Madison Square Garden SportsIt owns the Knicks and Rangers, giving it seats at games in the largest United States market, the physical experience that cannot be copied., TKO Group HoldingsIt owns UFC and WWE, live and unscripted sports properties that artificial intelligence cannot generate, with media and ticket rights as the growth drivers., DraftKingsIt captures value every time someone cares enough about a live game to place a wager, riding the same scarcity of live sports without owning the teams., Atlanta Braves HoldingsIt owns the Braves outright, combining live sports with the real estate where fans gather, with team valuations and gameday spending as the growth engines., Churchill DownsIt operates the Kentucky Derby, a once-a-year physical gathering with over a century of cultural pull that friends experience together.46%
- Venues and promoters selling live shows capture the scarcity of in-person experiences that cannot be streamed or copied from home. · Sphere EntertainmentThe Sphere is a venue where the space itself is the attraction, delivering a physical experience nothing at home can match., Live Nation EntertainmentIt controls the promoters, ticketing platforms, and venues through which live music money flows, capturing value as long as concert attendance and ticket volumes grow., IMAX CorporationIt offers a shared physical experience worth leaving home for when the same content is free elsewhere, thriving as studios make big-screen events and premium-format share rises.27%
- Parks built on beloved characters and worlds create physical experiences that artificial intelligence cannot replicate, forming a moat no generic competitor can match. · Walt Disney CompanyIt operates parks built on characters and stories it alone owns, creating a physical experience families seek out and artificial intelligence cannot replace., Comcast CorporationIts Universal parks segment, anchored by Epic Universe, builds the intellectual property-backed physical experiences central to this take.19%
