The idea
I believe AI bot traffic is growing fast enough to strain the internet within the next year or two, and the companies that filter, route, and house that flood get paid more as it worsens. The heaviest weight sits in bot-filtering security firms, backed by networking gear, optical interconnects, and data center capacity that carry and absorb the surge. I'm holding a cash reserve to add on dips, since a concentrated idea like this can swing hard, and I'd rethink it if bot traffic growth clearly stalls out.
What it owns
- Companies that identify and block automated traffic earn more when bot swarms grow and strain websites, forcing operators to buy better filtering. · CloudflareIt filters bot traffic from legitimate users at the edge of the network, and gets paid more when bot swarms force websites to strengthen their gates., Akamai TechnologiesIt absorbs and filters massive traffic floods, and its security business grows when hostile automated traffic forces companies to pay for protection., CrowdStrikeIt defends machines against automated attacks and intrusions, and rising bot volume means companies spend more on endpoint defense., ZscalerIt inspects traffic in the cloud before it reaches corporate systems, sitting at the chokepoint where cloud-based filtering stops bot swarms., F5It detects fake traffic at the application layer where bots try to impersonate real users, earning more as automated attack volume rises., FastlyIt sits at the network edge where bot floods hit first and filters traffic before it reaches origin servers, gaining most when a crisis strikes.34%
- Switches, routers, and chips that move data between machines get replaced and upgraded when traffic volume forces the network to expand. · Arista NetworksIt builds the switches that move enormous volumes of data inside data centers, and more bot traffic means more gear gets installed., BroadcomIt makes the networking chips inside switches and routers, and a traffic crunch forces operators to rebuild their pipes on faster silicon., Cisco SystemsIt builds the largest installed base of routers and switches carrying internet traffic, and a growing flood means steady, broad-based demand for its gear., CienaIt sells the equipment carriers use to add raw bandwidth to internet backbones, and operators reach for it first when traffic strains the pipes., Marvell TechnologyIt makes chips that move data inside and between data centers, the plumbing that gets stressed first and upgraded soonest when traffic surges.25%
- Power, cooling, real estate, and rack space become scarcer and more valuable when rising traffic forces operators to build out new facilities. · VertivIt supplies the power systems and cooling equipment that new data centers need, and capacity crunches force operators to build more facilities., EquinixIt owns the physical meeting points where networks connect, and a traffic flood makes those connection points more valuable and heavily used., Digital RealtyIt rents raw data center space that absorbs growing traffic, and rising demand for floor space keeps pushing occupancy and rents higher.15%
- The physical cables and optical components connecting data centers become a bottleneck when traffic surges, requiring faster and more numerous links. · Credo TechnologyIt makes high-speed connectivity chips and cables that link machines inside data centers, and faster connections get swapped in as traffic grows., CoherentIt makes optical transceivers that convert data to light between data centers, and a traffic surge triggers volume orders for these components., LumentumIt makes the lasers inside optical links carrying traffic between data centers, and more data requires more optical components., Astera LabsIt sells connectivity chips that fix bottlenecks inside data centers moving huge amounts of data, attracting spending when the traffic flood hits.14%
